Immersive Audio creation

Desired Goal
This is a piece of audio created, recorded and produced by myself. The goal of this project was to create an immersive piece that can be played through 5.2 Surround Sound speakers while also mixing this down to a binaural stereo mix. The creation of this sound was left to our own creative devices as long as the piece created was mixed and produced to a professional standard.
My approach
I decided to try and create a piece of music which would take the listener on a journey of relaxation. Along with creating a binaural frequency modulation I used a recording of a baby's heartbeat as the driving force behind this piece whilst adding sounds of water flowing captured using a Zoom H3 VR surround sound microphone. With these recordings I added some synthesiser along with some recordings of single drum hits with percussion.
